Team Think Tank's
Saturday Night Fights

On July 22nd 2006. Team Slayer brought the crew down to Team Think Tank's shop in Pasadena, CA. Each member brought a couple robots to compete in various classes. Daniel Rahamine (one of out newest members) brought a bettle weight made from a modified battlebot toy. Mike Tramiel brought his bettle weight he had been working on for a while. Alex Tramiel put together two of his most succesful robots to the event, Ducbot (1lb) and Ugly Duckling (150grams). Daniel Fukuba had prepared two antweights to bring to the even, KATO and a drum robot called Guilty Spark.

Alex Tramiel

This was a very succsesful event for Alex. He came prepared with Ducbot completely functional and running. he fought agains all the tough spinners, got pretty beat up, but still kept on fighting. He was able to make it all the way to the semi-finals, taking third place.

Alex's Fairy weight Ugly Duckling also did alright. He couldn't get it running that well because of reception issues, but put up a figh nonetheless. He placed second in the weightclass.

Daniel Fukuba

This year at SNF I didn't do as well as i hoped. I brought two robots, a spinner and the wedge. My spinner was a last minute robot that was competed in one day. In testing it did well, but when i fought against Baby Blaster at the event it didnt' do too well at all. I do not belive in tapping out durning a fight so i kept on fighting until the robot was completely destroyed. The robot wasn't able to fight a second time.

KATO did better then it had done before at SNF. It's first fight was up against a fierce spinner from Team Fatcats. Called Rick James. This was a powerful horizontal spinner built by Andy Sauro. KATO was almost completely destroyed, Rick James took out parts of KATO's wheels so i was unable to drive it properly. The left gearbox had stripped, causing it to sieze up often. But i was able to fight through and win the fight. A couple fights later i went up agians TRON. One of the defending chamions at SNF. That was KATO's last fight for the event.

Mike Tramiel

At this evenet Mike brought his new robot, Roboslayer. This robot fought in the beetle weight class. He didn't get much driving practice in so he ended up not doing as well as he had hoped. He ened up placing third in the weightclass. Mike spent a lot of time check out all the other robots, while taking pictures and video for the event.

Danny Rahamine

Danny is one of the newest members of the team. He works with us on out other robotics projects and was interested to get into combat. We brought him along to show him how fun the events can be, and how much he can get out of it. We prepared a robot for him to drive so he can expirience the thrill. He also helped out Ted and Suni with operating the arena, and setting up sound equipment. over all he was a great help which we were glad to have. He ended up taking second place in the bettle weight division.
